Returning to Counselling
You have tried counselling before, but something did not quite click
Maybe you spoke about what was happening but left each session wondering what you were meant to do with it.
Perhaps the counsellor was kind, but you never felt fully understood. Maybe you spent weeks explaining your history, only for the counselling to end before it felt like anything had actually changed.
Now you are considering trying again, but part of you is wondering whether it will be any different this time.
That hesitation makes sense.
You are allowed to want more from counselling
You may want a counsellor who listens, but also helps you make sense of what you are experiencing. You might want space to reflect while still having direction, practical strategies and an understanding of what you are working towards.
You are not asking for too much.
When we begin, you can tell me what helped previously, what did not and what you would like to be different. You do not have to dismiss your past experience or pretend that you are completely comfortable starting again.
Together, we can focus on helping you:
understand yourself more deeply
recognise patterns that continue to repeat
move beyond temporary relief
develop strategies that make sense in your life
feel clearer about what you need and where you are heading
We do not have to start from the beginning
We can begin with where you are now.
You are welcome to ask questions, tell me when something is not landing and be honest about what you need from counselling. Your feedback will not offend me. It helps us make sure the work continues to feel relevant and useful to you.
If you are thinking about returning to counselling, you are welcome to get in touch with us to learn more or book a complimentary 15-minute discovery call. We can have an informal conversation, talk about what you are looking for and see whether I feel like the right counsellor for you.
