Student Counselling
You open your laptop to start an assignment, but you cannot make yourself begin.
You check the due date again. You look at everything you need to complete and feel so overwhelmed that you avoid it for another hour.
Then the guilt begins.
You tell yourself that you are lazy, unmotivated or falling behind while everyone else seems to be managing university, work, relationships and life without struggling.
You may be attending classes and submitting work, but that does not mean you are coping well underneath it all.
University can feel lonely, even when you are surrounded by people
Perhaps you have moved away from home and miss having familiar support around you. Maybe you are balancing study with work, family responsibilities, finances or expectations about what you should achieve.
You might not even know which part is causing the most stress anymore. You just know that everything feels like a lot.
Counselling can give you somewhere to pause and work through what is happening without needing to pretend that you have it all together.
Together, we may work on:
anxiety, stress and overthinking
procrastination and feeling stuck
study pressure and fear of failure
loneliness or difficulty adjusting
relationships and boundaries
motivation, confidence and self-worth
balancing university, work and personal life
You do not have to wait until you are failing or in crisis before asking for support.
